Overview
The Jewel Store Job is the first full multi-stage heist in GTA V's story. Lester plans a robbery of the Vangelico boutique on Portola Drive. Players choose Smart or Loud on the planning screen, which determines whether preparation focuses on Bugstars disguises and BZ gas or on stolen carbines from an LSPD convoy. Gunman, driver, and hacker crew choices affect combat performance, getaway speed, and hack duration during the finale. Both approaches end in a smash-and-grab through the store followed by a Los Santos escape.
Walkthrough
Smart approach finale: 1. Drive to Vangelico in the Bugstars van. 2. Throw BZ gas into the store ventilation. 3. Enter with crew, smash display cases, and collect jewelry. 4. Escape in the getaway vehicle before police surround the block. Loud approach finale: 1. Approach Vangelico armed with crew carbines. 2. Enter the store and hold off staff and security. 3. Smash cases and gather loot under fire. 4. Fight through police response and escape by vehicle.
Fail Conditions
The heist fails if Michael or Franklin dies, if the getaway vehicle is destroyed before extraction, if the crew runs out of time inside the store, or if too many crew members are killed based on hired gunman quality.
