Overview
Scouting the Port is preparation for the Freighter approach on The Merryweather Heist. Franklin enters the Port of Los Santos and photographs guards, cameras, and cargo placements used in Lester's plan. The recon mission introduces Elysian Island logistics and Merryweather's dockside security layout before the freighter infiltration finale. Progress is tracked on Lester Crest's planning board at the garment factory hideout. The equipment or intelligence gathered here is referenced again during the finale briefing. Setup missions do not pay separate completion bonuses; earnings are bundled into the heist payout when the score succeeds. Players may complete preparations in any order allowed by approach selection, but the finale remains locked until all required icons for that path are marked ready on the planning screen.
Walkthrough
1. Travel to the Port of Los Santos. 2. Reach the first marked surveillance position. 3. Photograph guards, cameras, and cargo as objectives appear. 4. Continue to additional scouting points around the docks. 5. Upload or deliver the photos to complete preparation.
Fail Conditions
Failure occurs if Franklin dies, if security kills him during restricted access, or if required photographs are not taken before leaving the port area.
