Firefighter
Emergency side activity spanning GTA III through GTA V — extinguish fires from a fire truck for rewards and completion.
Overview
Firefighter is a recurring side activity across multiple GTA titles. Players enter a fire truck to trigger firefighting missions where burning vehicles and pedestrians must be extinguished within time limits. In older titles the activity tracked level progression toward 100% completion; in GTA V it appears as a freeroam emergency role without the classic level ladder but retains the core extinguish-and-rescue loop. Mission progress saves at most checkpoints in supported titles, and the pause-map legend continues to display active objectives while players manage wanted levels or switch protagonists when the strand allows.
Walkthrough
1. Enter a fire truck in the relevant game — spawned at stations or found in the world. 2. Accept the emergency dispatch when fires appear on the map. 3. Drive to the blaze and use the water cannon to extinguish flames. 4. Rescue burning pedestrians when secondary objectives appear. 5. Repeat until completion requirements for that title are satisfied. 6. Review the mission summary on the results screen for payout totals, respect changes, or unlock notifications before returning to freeroam.
Completion Notes
In GTA San Andreas and earlier, missing too many fires fails the level. GTA V focuses on ad-hoc firefighting without the same structured level counter but still rewards quick response.
Trivia
Firefighter pairs with Paramedic and Vigilante as the classic emergency triad from GTA III era design. Rockstar documents these beats in the retail mission text, phone scripts, and pause-menu checklist where applicable.
