Michael and Franklin pursue thieves who stole Jimmy's docked yacht, forming their partnership during a high-speed boat chase through Los Santos waterways.
Overview
Father/Son follows Jimmy De Santa's attempt to sell his father's docked yacht without permission at Puerto Del Sol. When the prospective buyers steal the vessel instead, Michael De Santa recruits Franklin Clinton for a high-speed boat pursuit through Los Santos harbor channels. The mission is the first extended cooperative sequence between Michael and Franklin and demonstrates mid-mission protagonist swapping during action. It also deepens Jimmy's reckless behavior as a recurring source of family tension.
Walkthrough
1. Meet Michael and Jimmy at the Puerto Del Sol marina. 2. Discover the yacht has been stolen and board a pursuit boat with Franklin. 3. Chase the thieves through harbor channels and open water. 4. Close distance and disable the target vessel with gunfire or ramming. 5. Board or secure the yacht once the thieves are stopped. 6. Return to the dock with Michael and Franklin to finish. Tactical note: The pursuit boat responds better in open water than between tight marina piers. Switch to Franklin for sharper boat handling during sharp turns.
Fail Conditions
The mission fails if either protagonist dies, if the pursuit boat is destroyed before the chase concludes, or if the stolen yacht escapes beyond the mission boundary.
Aftermath
Father/Son unlocks Marriage Counseling, Daddy's Little Girl, and Did Somebody Say Yoga? for Michael's family strand. Franklin's partnership with Michael replaces Simeon's repo work and opens the Rockford Hills storyline.
